I was fortunate to hear and see the Pope this morning at the White House welcoming ceremony. It was a wonderful and uplifting experience. We should open our hearts and minds to hear his message to Catholics in the United States versus what we choose to hear.

It was the perfect Washington day; a wonderful way to welcome the Holy Father. I attended the welcoming ceremony with my daughter. 12,000 gathered on the south lawn of the White House in prayer & reverance.
Pope Benedict shared a warm message and seemed to enjoy it when the crowd erupted in “Happy Birthday” (two times)
It was a blessing to be in his presence. God bless us all.

I was at the White House for the Welcoming Ceremony and at the National Basillica for Vespers and the address to the Bishops. When the Pope walked by he squeezed my fingers and smiled at me, and all of my pictures after that are rather blury from my hands shaking but it was the COOLEST moment EVER.

I attended the Papal Mass in Washington, DC. with my son, husband, and father. What a blessing!! There are opportunities in our lives that come only once and this was one. Wecome Papa to our sad little world and thanks for shining on it and breathing joy into it. I wish everyone could have been there. He had the weight of the world on his shoulders, yet he was still so giving and generous and happy. Wow, what a lesson. Thanks for being here Papa!!
